I hope all of you are gearing up for a relaxing July 4th weekend.
We'll be spending most of our off time getting ready for our next show.
The show will be located in Maggie Valley, NC on July 9th and 10th.
Hopefully, we will be spending one of our days off going to an antique car
show in Fletcher, NC. Our cameras are at the ready!
Between the two of us, we should be able to get some good photos that
I can use as reference for my drawings.
If you browse my website, you will see that I have a few drawings
of old trucks and one antique car. I really enjoy drawing old transportation
of any kind.

Alaskan Wildlife
My wife and I have decided that if we ever win the lottery, we will need a summer
home away from the deep south. I think Alaska might have the summer temps
that we are looking for.
Because I have been thinking about traveling to Alaska for the last couple of
weeks, I thought I would show you another original that will be going on sale
for our Christmas in July promotion.
This drawing is called Dinner Time. The size of the original drawing is 11"x11"
and is matted and framed in black.
The original price is $650.00. The sale price is $500.00.

Christmas in July!
We are gearing up for Christmas in July.
What that means is simply for the month of July we will be offering several of our most popular original drawings for sale.

All you have to do is e-mail us if you would like to buy one of these originals and mention that you saw it on our blog, then give us the name of the organization to which you would like the 10% to be donated.. Once we have completed the transaction, we will make the donation and you will be notified. Easy!
Here is an example of one of the originals we will have for sale.
The price on this piece is $1000.00. This is matted and framed in black. The size of the drawing is approximately 10”x12”. The sale price is $750.00.

Happy Father's Day!!!!
It's another hot day in the south. I hope everyone is staying cool.
Even though today is Father's Day, I have been steadily working on a new
pen and ink drawing. Because my drawings are so detailed, I use photographs
as reference.
I was looking through some older photos and found some from a trip to Wyoming that I had taken about twenty years ago.
A few of the photos really had me thinking about drawing more western pieces.
I hope to have the first one completed within the next couple of weeks.
The new one will go in to my Western Gallery on my website. In order to get
you in a western mood, I am posting another drawing from that gallery.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Always Something New!
Through some mutual friends, we have discovered an exciting new talent by the name of Phillip Benz. He is doing some amazing artwork, all done with spray paint! He has even done some videos of how he creates these outstanding works, and it is simply phenomenal that he does everything with only cans of spray paint.
Check out this sample of his work and be sure to take a look at his Facebook page -- Unique Spray Paintings.

Another Artist to Check Out!
My wife and I do several booth shows a year. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to meet a fellow artist and continue the association after the show is over.
We met such an artist at the Rock Hill Christmasville show in December, 2010.
They paint all kinds of images on glass ornaments. These ornaments are not just for the Christmas season. They make and sell nice wooden ornament holders for those of you who like to showcase special ornaments in your home throughout the year.
They also do a variety of woodcrafts, as well as hand painted glass ware, including wine bottles, wine glasses, salt and pepper shakers, etc.
Check out their facebook page at Sandra Francis Art.

A New Week!
I hope everyone had a great week-end and is ready for a new week.
On Saturday we went downtown to the Artist's shops that are located on the Reedy River in Greenville. Such a cool place. We love talking to other artist's about their work and their marketing.
Some artists won't share information about anything, much less their suppliers, etc.
I don't understand that mind set. I feel it is every artist's responsibility to help other artists or people who would like to try their hand at some form of art.
Saturday, we were fortunate to meet a woman who does beautiful Silhouettes and Portraits. Her name is Patti and she was very forthcoming with a certain printing process that my wife and I were interested in. So, thank you, Patti.
Check her out at http://www.pattirishforth.com/.

Welcome to Shafranski Art
This is a first for me. I realized if I wanted to promote my business I would have to bite the bullet and get with the mainstream.
It’s rather difficult teaching this old dog a new trick.
My name is Paul Shafranski and by day I am a Piping Designer with a South Carolina Engineering firm. By nights and weekends I am a pen and ink artist.
Three years ago, after completing a couple of commissions for co-workers, I realized
I might be able to sell my artwork. (My wife had been after me to do so for many
years.) So we started our business, Shafranski Art, LLC.
At first, we decided to have an Internet business only, selling signed and numbered limited edition prints. Before I knew it, my wife had some of my originals in gallery shows and we had purchased a tent, tables, etc., in order to do booth shows.
Selling limited edition prints soon became the selling of original artwork, prints, note cards and t-shirts.
We had our first show of 2011 in April at Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, SC. It was the 2nd Annual Catawba Indian Pow Wow. What a great show! We thank everyone who participated in making it such a good experience.
Our second show was Memorial Day weekend in Blue Ridge, GA. The show was very well put together and we met several nice people. It was extremely hot for that area and I believe that was instrumental in not having the traffic we were all expecting.
Our next show will be July 9-10 in Maggie Valley, NC. What a beautiful area! We did this show in 2010 and had a BLAST!!! Come see us!
That’s all for now.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
